What Is BPJS? The Social Health Insurance Administration Body or BPJS is a public legal entity established to administer social programs.  BPJS is required not only for Indonesian but also for expatriates or foreigners who have been living in Indonesia for 6 (six) months or more to obtain BPJS Kesehatan (Health Security BPJS). In addition, if you are a KITAS holder, you will not able to extend it, unless you have a BPJS.   Type of BPJS There are two kinds of BPJS as follows: Health Security BPJS. The certification is issued by the Halal Products Certification Agency (BPJH), a new government agency under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Meanwhile, for international students who already have got the letter of acceptance letter from an Indonesian higher education institution, you can follow these steps.    How to Apply for an Indonesia Student Visa There are 4 steps to apply for an Indonesian Student Visa. The steps are as follows: Apply for a Study Permit from Indonesian Ministry of Education. Apply for an entry visa (VITAS) at the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate in your country. Upon arrival in Indonesia, Change the VITAS into a KITAS (Limited Stay Permit) at the Immigration Department. Obtain a Certificate of Police Registration Card. Then, you should meet all requirements from each step to apply for an Indonesia Student Visa.   1. Apply for a Study Permit from the Indonesian Ministry of Education These are the requirements to apply for a Study Permit: A copy of the recommendation letter issued by your university. A copy of your Letter of Acceptance. A letter of recommendation from the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence. A Letter of Financial Guarantee or a sponsorship certificate that proves you can cover your study and living expenses. Complete application form. A copy of your academic transcript and records. A social visa (B-211) or also called a cultural social visa allows foreigners to visit their friends and relatives or participate in the social, cultural, or educational exchange in Indonesia.  A Social Visa holder is not allowed to engage in any business activities in Indonesia. Therefore, this visa is not for business or commercial activities and employment. However, if you plan to do so, you need to apply for a business visa to participate or attend business-related purposes or a working visa KITAS to generate income.          The Validity of a Social Visa The Social Visa is valid for 60 days and can be extended 4 times for a maximum of 30 days each time without having to leave the country. What Is a Dependent Visa KITAS Indonesia? A Dependent Visa KITAS or called Indonesian family reunion visa allows foreigners who hold an IMTA and work visa KITAS to bring their husbands/wives and children under the age of 18 years old.  Please note that a Dependent Visa does not allow family members to work in Indonesia or earn income from Indonesian companies.  However, if a Dependent Visa holder would like to work in Indonesia later, you can apply for an IMTA and earn an income to work a part-time position, not a full-time position. Furthermore, if you get paid, you need to register a Tax ID (NPWP) and submit yearly Individual Tax Reports. For a Dependent Visa holder that plans to work a full-time position, you can apply for a Working Visa KITAS and change your sponsor to your new employer.  Requirements for Obtaining Dependent Visa KITAS If you are willing to obtain this visa, the Dependent Visa KITAS, you should meet some requirements as follows: Certificate of marriage. The KITAS is now available as an online record together with MERP (Multiple Exit Re-entry Permit). Your MERP will boast the same duration as your KITAS. Civil Registration and Reporting Afterward, you must register and report to a related party. What Is an Investor KITAS? An Investor KITAS (types 313 and 314) is issued to applicants that invest their money in a company in Indonesia (PT PMA Company) and need to work for that company.  Indonesia Investor KITAS offers huge benefits, such as the ease of application and the waiver of the work permit fee. You should not pay the visa fee of USD 1,200 per year if you meet all the investment requirements. Furthermore, foreign investors do not have to wait for so long to start working after providing their initial investment. Articles of Association of the company and any recent amendments to the act. Taxpayer number (NPWP). Business identification number (Nomor Induk Berusaha / NIB). Operating License (Izin Usaha). Company location permit (Surat Domisili Usaha). Foreign company investment realization report (LKPM). Passport and ITAS of the director or identity card (KTP) of the local manager/director. Taxpayer ID (NPWP) and Tax Status Letter (KSWP) of Local Executive / Director. Other related documents.
